Overhauled Audio System through Myceliaudio Support

Hey folks! I’m thrilled to share how Amanita now weaves in Myceliaudio (a powerful, general-purpose Unity audio plugin) directly through our Flowchart Commands. No coding required. Just point, click, and let your game’s soundscape come alive.

🍄 What is Myceliaudio?

Myceliaudio (MA) is a lightweight Unity extension that handles everything from background music and sound effects to smooth crossfades and volume settings—all via simple API calls. It even ships with its own volume-options menu, so players can tailor their experience on the fly.

🌼 Audio at Your Fingertips: Flowchart Commands

We’ve wrapped MA’s core features into Amanita’s visual Flowcharts, so you can:

  • Play or pause tracks (BGMs, SFX, ambient loops)
  • Crossfade between themes for seamless scene shifts
  • Adjust global or channel volumes without any coding
  • Chain audio events alongside dialogue, animations, or gameplay

If you’ve ever built a Flowchart in Amanita or Fungus, you already know the drill: just drag, drop, and configure in the Inspector.

💬 Consistent Dialogue Audio

All audio triggered in Say Dialogs now runs through our MA bridge. That means your dialogue cues always hit the perfect volume and never step on each other, keeping your narrative crystal clear.

📜 A Tiny History Lesson

Believe it or not, Myceliaudio started as a fan-made Fungus extension. Yep, originally tinkered together for Ammy's dad. It later evolved into the standalone plugin it is today. By adopting it as Amanita’s audio backbone, we’ve brought audio support full circle: from fanwork to core feature!

🌿 What’s Next?

The built-in sys becoming completely optional, true to Amanita’s modular spirit. If you’ve got a custom sound system or another third-party tool you love, you'll get to swap it in without touching Amanita’s source. We’ll keep an eye on feedback and consider new features down the line, but for now this bridge is stable, lightweight, and ready for your soundscapes.
